Any time a cylinder head is removed from an engine block it should be resurfaced to ensure absolute straightness. Most of the time, warping is caused by an overheated engine that expands the head past its typical limits. When the head cools down it won't return to its exact original shape. A head could be warped at .005" which is the equivalent to the width of a $1 bill ~ virtually unseen to the naked eye but enough to cause issues. A cylinder head that is milled flat will ensure no external or internal fluids leak as well as good compression on those cylinders.
Cylinder Head Resurfacing

Just like a brake rotor will warp, the engine's flywheel experiences a similar fate. Over time, the clutch disc will break down with excessive slippage causing hot spots and glazing on the face of the flywheel. Resurfacing the flywheel will ensure a nice flat, unglazed surface to help get the most life out of your new clutch kit.

Otherwise known as "valve grinding", we media blast the valves to make sure that all the carbon and other build up is eliminated. This is included as a part of our reconditioning process. Additionally we place these in our refacing machine and they are inspected carefully for concentricity, pitting, and other damage. It is vey common that a valve can distort and have a couple of spots that won't seal well until refaced.
Valve Refacing

As time and age affects everything around us, the internals of your engine are no different. Most valve guides are brass and will loosen up over time which will inevitably result in an engine that smokes. Replacement of the valve guide (if necessary) will result in better performance and an engine that does not smoke.

Valve Guide Replacement

This diagnostic tool is critical to the successful repair of any cylinder head job. We pressurize the cooling system component of your cylinder head casting to ensure that it isn't cracked or otherwise compromised.
Pressure Testing

Your exhaust manifold is subjected to a considerable amount of heat . Over time, the warm up/cool down process eventually warps and causes leaks between the manifold and the cylinder head. Our goal is to resurface and straighten your manifold back to how it was when it was new.

Magnetizing an iron head and coating with iron oxide is another diagnostic tool that helps to ensure an uncompromised head at the end of the job
